L-net has two goals:

  1. Provide quality online reference service to all Oregonians.
  2. Provide workers in Oregon libraries with skills and tools to deliver online reference service.

We have set three specific objectives for the 2007-08 grant year.

  1. Increase usage by at least 10%, i.e. 22,650 questions.

In grant year 2007-08, L-net received 21,608 questions, a 5% increase over the previous year. This objective was not met, though the service did grow.

  2. Receive an overall 80% satisfaction rating from patrons.

In the first quarter of 2007-08, 85% of patrons said they were either 'Satisfied' or 'somewhat satisfied' with our service. Only 6% said they would not use our service again. This objective is was met.

  3. Increase the number of hours Oregon librarians staff L-net to 75 hours per week.

In the second week of February, 2008, Oregon librarians staffed L-net's chat service 78 hours. This objective was met.
