L-net Marketing Team

What We're Up To

General Information

We began with brainstorming in January 2005:

  1. Seeking advice from colleagues & professional marketeers ;)
  2. Researching how other digref is marketed successfully
  3. Getting L-net logo&link more prominently featured on current websites and added to new websites (both inside and outside library world)
  4. Distributing current bookmarks [e.g. Oregon Historical Society & Portland Art Museum shops, popular coffeehouses]
  5. Designing new promotional materials [bookmarks, posters, t-shirts, magnets]
  6. Creating a schedule of promotional opportunities (both inside and outside library world)
  7. Planning for specific events, e.g. Online Northwest, January OLA Board mtg, et al
  8. Seeking contacts in radio, print & other media for promotional opportunities
  9. Exploring ideas about additional queues
  10. Exploring idea about high-end promo kit that could rotate around libraries, a la the Frankenstein Exhibit, possibly with a party like the "Data & Dessert" idea that recently floated on Libs-OR

Specific Information

Our brainstorming yielded these specific actions:

EVENTS / PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

See the calendar of past, present, and future events: Calendar

Our presence at these events range from something as simple as walking around in an L-net t-shirt (answering questions & giving out bookmarks) to staffing a table to giving presentations.

We created supporting promotional materials for these events: pens, pencils, t-shirts, bookmarks, posters, USB keychains
