Erin
Hillsboro Public Library
I graduated from the University of Washington's Information School in Seattle and moved to Oregon to work for the Hillsboro Public Library in October 2007. I have a 13-year-old Australian Shepherd / Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix named Ionesco, two budgies (parakeets) named Korg and Alesis, two house rabbits named Litha and Echo, and 5 chickens named Kate, Audrey, Grace, Lauren, and Bette.
Expertise:
I'm a cataloging and serials librarian at Hillsboro, so questions about magazines and newspapers and how to use the catalog are right up my alley. I also like historical and biographical questions and love finding obscure bits of trivia.
Favorite books:
Some favorite authors are Daniel Pinkwater, David Foster Wallace, James Joyce, Kate Wilhelm, Kurt Vonnegut, Madeleine L'Engle, Philip K. Dick, Raymond Chandler, Shel Silverstein, and William Gibson. My "guilty pleasure" is mysteries -- a few favorites are John Sandford, Michael Connelly, Harlan Coben, and Jonathan Kellerman.
