Everest College Library

I am the librarian at Everest College, in downtown Portland. I have been a solo-librarian here since February 2010. Before that, I was a public librarian at the Brooklyn Public Library in the Society, Sciences and Technology division of their Central Branch. I also have a bit of background with archives. I love reference work, public service, and feel like I have the opportunity to learn something new each day through helping out patrons. Chat-reference is a fun challenge, and an inspiring way to reach out to a different kind of library user, and I'm enjoying it very much.

Expertise:

Reference, bibliographic instruction, archives.

Favorite books:

So many! I'm a sucker for the classics, but I also enjoy good travel writing, humor, and history.
Here's a quick list of authors I adore: W. Somerset Maugham, George Orwell, Grahame Greene, Dostoevsky, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Camus, Murakami, Douglas Adams, Bill Bryson, and Sarah Vowell.
