Reference librarianship is a great career since every day you talk to people of all ages and interests and help them find information. When not at work, I go hiking, play the flute, and dance, particularly morris dancing, a form of English folk dance. I love newspapers, and though I like the aesthetics of print, I am one of those who reads the newspaper online much more than paper just out of practicality these days.

Favorite books:

Some of my favorite books are music scores, particularly French music of the Baroque era composed by Leclair, Blavet, and others who wrote for the flute. Other than that, I tend to select non-fiction, and some of my favorite authors are Octavio Paz, Naguib Mahfouz, Italo Calvino, and V.S. Naipaul. When browsing around looking for new books, often the ones that look most interesting to me are accounts of travel.
