Favorite books and authors
I just read Manstealing for Fat Girls by Michelle Embree and loved it! Some of my old favorites are:
- the Carlos Tejada series (mysteries set in 1940s Spain) by Rebecca Pawel
- Greg Rucka's Queen & Country comics
- anything by John Le Carre, Raymond Chandler, Robert Hellenga, Amanda Cross, Margaret Atwood, or Julian Rathbone.
But that's just fiction -- I also love to read nonfiction, and some of my recent favorites are:
- The Long Summer: How Climate Changed Civilization, by Brian Fagan
- Vindication: A Life of Mary Wollstonecraft, by Lyndall Gordon
- The World of the Kalapuya: A Native People of Northwestern Oregon, by Judy Rycraft Juntunen et al.
- Girl Sleuth: Nancy Drew and the Women Who Created Her, by Melanie Rehak
- Making Stuff and Doing Things: A Collection of DIY Guides to Doing Just About Everything, by Kyle Bravo.
