Disciples Historical Collection

Books and periodicals from and about the history of the Restoration Movement, an indigenous American Christian tradition. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination and the Churches of Christ (a capela) and Christian Church/Churches of Christ fellowships all trace their heritage from the Restoration Movement. The collection is closed to the public, but available for research by appointment. The books are included in our online catalog (search: http://northwestchristian.worldcat.org/). Rare Book and Bible Collection

Aproximately 250 rare Bibles up to 600 years old. Many 16th and 17th century Bibles. Traces the early history of the English Bible. Some have been restored. Contains a few other rare books as well, including first published edition of Captain Cook's journals detailing his three voyages, and materials from the early history of the Restoration Movement. Southern Oregon Digital Archive (SODA)

The Southern Oregon Digital Archives (SODA) is a digital library of three major collections:
1) Southern Oregon History Collection - books, maps, government documents, oral histories, correspondence and miscellaneous materials that document the unique historical experience of Southern Oregon. Most materials focus on historic era settlement or economic development in Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, and Josephine Counties. Agriculture, mining, forestry, commerce, education, government, and politics, religious organizations, and social life of the region are among the aspects represented.
2) Bioregion Collection - a unique collection of materials relating to the Southern Oregon Klamath-Siskiyou bioregion containing selected Oregon state publications from agencies such as the Departments of Energy, Environmental Quality, Forestry, Fish and Wildlife, and Water Resources Board to add to the Bioregion Collection.
3) First Nations Collection - documents, books, and articles relating to the indigenous peoples of southwestern Oregon and northern California. Some of these nations include the Coos, Hupa, Karuk, Klamath, Modoc, Takelma, Shasta, Siuslaw, Cow Creek Band of Umpqua, Yahooskin, and Yurok nations.
