L-net goings-on
l-net goings-on 12/14/2011
Hi everybody,
I had missed sending out this newsletter last Friday, and that happens and it is just fine, as the tide of Important L-net News has ebbed.

1. Holiday Schedule
L-net will slow down dramatically over the winter holidays, especially between Christmas and New Years. It has begun already, as this is the last week of school in many places and not a lot of homework is due.
This means you, yes you, do not have to worry too much about covering your shift. Between December 17th and January 2, we'd like to have one or two people online for each shift, but no more than that. If you find that you are scheduled on a shift with three people, please consider dropping. You can find your library's schedule at www.oregonlibraries.net/ staff/schedule/my.
We are officially closed December 24th, December 25th and January 1. For the days immediately before and after those (Dec. 23, Dec. 26, Dec. 31, Jan. 2), if your library is not open or if you can't cover a shift, you are welcome to drop your shift or to ask us to drop it for you. If no one can make it December 26th, for example, L-net will simply be closed that day also.
As always, if you try to drop a shift and can't because you are the last person scheduled, we'll get email notification and probably drop your shift anyway.
2. November statistics
In November, L-net had 3,569 questions, a 1% decrease from November of the previous year. We had 205 text messages, 103 email questions and 3,261 chat requests.
