Southern Oregon Digital Archive (SODA)

The Southern Oregon Digital Archives (SODA) is a digital library of three major collections:
1) Southern Oregon History Collection - books, maps, government documents, oral histories, correspondence and miscellaneous materials that document the unique historical experience of Southern Oregon. Most materials focus on historic era settlement or economic development in Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, and Josephine Counties. Agriculture, mining, forestry, commerce, education, government, and politics, religious organizations, and social life of the region are among the aspects represented.
2) Bioregion Collection - a unique collection of materials relating to the Southern Oregon Klamath-Siskiyou bioregion containing selected Oregon state publications from agencies such as the Departments of Energy, Environmental Quality, Forestry, Fish and Wildlife, and Water Resources Board to add to the Bioregion Collection.
3) First Nations Collection - documents, books, and articles relating to the indigenous peoples of southwestern Oregon and northern California. Some of these nations include the Coos, Hupa, Karuk, Klamath, Modoc, Takelma, Shasta, Siuslaw, Cow Creek Band of Umpqua, Yahooskin, and Yurok nations.

Rare Book and Bible Collection

Aproximately 250 rare Bibles up to 600 years old. Many 16th and 17th century Bibles. Traces the early history of the English Bible. Some have been restored. Contains a few other rare books as well, including first published edition of Captain Cook's journals detailing his three voyages, and materials from the early history of the Restoration Movement. William E. Paul English Bible Collection

Originally collected by private collector, purported to be an example of every English translation of the Bible. Housed in the Reference room available for viewing and research by the public, but cannot be checked out. See web site for available hours.

Disciples Historical Collection

Books and periodicals from and about the history of the Restoration Movement, an indigenous American Christian tradition. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination and the Churches of Christ (a capela) and Christian Church/Churches of Christ fellowships all trace their heritage from the Restoration Movement. OHSU Historical Collections & Archives

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Historical Collections & Archives is the repository of primary and secondary source materials pertaining to the history of the institution, the history of health sciences education and practice in the Pacific Northwest, and the history of the health sciences generally.
The collection includes all pre-1901 imprints and other rare and valuable published works, as well as archival records and personal papers, images, and artifacts.

Multnomah County Library zine collection

Multnomah County Central Library and eight neighborhood libraries

Multnomah County Library's zine collection is circulating collection of independently produced and published zines and comics. It covers all subjects, and includes works by many authors from Portland, Oregon, and the Pacific Northwest.

Mount Angel Abbey Library

St. Benedict, OR

Mount Angel Abbey Library has over 200,000 items in its collection, with an emphasis on philosophy and theology. The American Civil War collection is also extensive. In Special Collections are books dating back to the 13th century. The highlight is a group of illuminated Books of Hours, the digital images of which can be viewed at http://www.mountangelabbey.org/library/manuscripts.htm. The library building and furnishings were designed by world famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto.

Baker County Library - Historic Photo Archive

The archives of Baker County Library contain approximately 10,000 historic photographs. Over 7,000 of the records have been digitized and are available online in a searchable database at http://www.bakerlib.org/webphoto/.

Audubon Society of Portland, Marshall Collection

The research collection of David Marshall, accumulated over 6 decades of birding in the Portland Metro area. Mr Marshall was also a biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in various locations around the United States and accumulated materials to support his research wherever he was stationed.
