Question by buzz@oregonlibraries.net on Fri, 09/04/2009 - 4:14pm

I need help with solving production possibilities frontier but I could not copy the graph so hope you understand this. On the graph the hay and corn is at 60. Hay 60 to top and corn 60 to the bottom. There is 30 to top and 30 to bottom and same with 90 do I move the slope to 90 or 30 or does it remain 60. And could you explain why? Thank you This production possibilities frontier (also called the production possibilities curve) shows the combinations of hay and corn that Kurt can grow each year in his fields. Some of his land is more suitable for growing corn than hay and some of his land is more suitable for growing hay than corn. Suppose that the pests go away. In its initial position, the curve once again shows the combinations of hay and corn that Kurt can grow. Then, weather patterns change so that his farm receives more rain. As a result, the productivity of all of his land increases. Adjust the curve (or if appropriate, leave it in its initial position) to show Kurt's production possibilities with the additional rain.
