I am looking for a book on child development thru pre-teen, parenting upto pre-teen.

librarian: hi anonymous
librarian: are you looking for a specific book or just generally?
anonymous: I looking for something with lots of information about child development and understanding the stages of children for parenting
librarian: ok, am looking in dundee catalog
librarian: is that a library close to you?
anonymous: newberg libraray
librarian: ok, good because that's what site came up for me! =)
librarian: here is the site i am searching if you would like to try with me http://www.newberg.plinkit.org/
librarian: i think if you click on the link it will open a new web browser window
librarian: then where it says search your library catalog i changed title to keyword and typed in "child development"---don't know if you have already tried this
librarian: i see a book titled Is this a phase? child development and parent strategies from birth to 6 years--it is checked out but you can place a hold/request
librarian: how does this sound?
librarian: there is a series of books by Ames
anonymous: sounds good, i will check the website as well. thanks
librarian: for example Your six-year-old : defiant but loving / by Louise Bates Ames and Frances L. Ilg.
librarian: another author is Penelope Leach Your baby & child from birth to age five
librarian: both are available.
anonymous: no, its really for my husband, he does;nt know kids very well, and I would like him to have a better understanding of development and parenting strategies and how the fathers behavior impacts kids lives, oldest is 10, 8, 6
librarian: i totally understand!
librarian: want to take over from here or would you like me to look for some for ages 6-10?
librarian: looks like Newberg has a Parent/teacher section (sorry I work EMAIL OSU so don't know Newberg very well)
anonymous: I got it, thanks anyway, anonymous
librarian: ok, just let us know if you have any additional questions
librarian: p.s. i just searched parent father and might be a couple interesting books
librarian: i can let you go
librarian: by the way, Ames has books for 6, 8, and 10-14 year olds. If Newberg doesn't have they can borrow for you. And last, don't know how direct you want to be but searching amazon shows a number of books geared towards fathering--could identify them and then have Newberg borrow for you-- http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&tag=mozilla-20&index=blended&link_code=q...
librarian: One more Amazon search http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywor... and I'll sign off and leave you to browsing.
