I'm looking for a book for my college class called "Thinking Through Commuication: An Introduction to the Study of Human Communications (5th ed) author: Sarah Trenholm ; Publisher: Boston, MA: Allyn & Bacon
librarian: Hi Anonymous, My name is Librarian and I'm looking at your question now.
librarian: Ok, I'm working on your question now, thanks for your patience.
anonymous: Thank you.
librarian: Ok, I found a few different editions through World Cat, I'm still looking for the 5th edition, thanks for your patience.
librarian: Ok, I found it on World Cat, are you familiar with that database?
anonymous: No I'm not.
librarian: The reason I ask is because it will take approximately 3 weeks to arrive here in Multnomah County (we'll be borrowing it from another library system).
librarian: If that's too long to wait, I'd be happy to check Washington County, Clackamas Co, and Powells Bookstore
librarian: Would 3-4 weeks be too long to wait?
anonymous: Yes, I need it before Friday for an assignment.
librarian: Oh, ok, so I might suggest us looking at another local library, then at Powells Bookstore as a last resort. Can you wait 5 minutes for me to search the other two libraries?
anonymous: Yes
librarian: Ok, well darn- I checked 3 libraries: Clackamas Co, Washington Co, and Clark Co and none of them own this book. Sometimes text books are tricky- it's difficult to find them in public libraries.
librarian: Would you like for me to search Powells Bookstore for an inexpensive used copy?
anonymous: Yes you can search powell books. I can also use an audio version of the book if that is available.
librarian: Ok, I'll search Powells for both print and audio versions. None of the libraries had an audio version. :(
anonymous: That's okay. I appreciate your help.
librarian: Ok, I found it at Powells, please wait just another minute.
librarian: Ok, go ahead and click here but the least expensive one that Powells has is for $67.
librarian: One last thing I'd like to try is to see if Google has this book available to view on the internet (for free). Do you have another 2 minutes that you could wait?
anonymous: Yes
librarian: Ok, I just looked at "Google Books" and they don't have any of their editions to preview. I'm sorry. :(
anonymous: No problem. Thank you so much for trying.
librarian: Well, I'm sorry we couldn't find a better solution. Is there anything else I can try and help you with?
anonymous: No that was all. Thank you very much.
librarian: Ok, well have a nice day. bye.
anonymous: Bye
